Terms of use

These terms are a contract between you and the publisher of Andrea. Using the app means accepting them.

Last updated 2026-08-26

1. Who you are contracting with

Andrea is made and published by Alexander Anders Linden, an individual developer based in Sweden, referred to below as “we” and “us”. Contact details are on the legal and contact page.

Andrea is distributed through the Apple App Store. Apple’s standard End User License Agreement also applies to your use of the app. Where these terms and that agreement conflict, that agreement takes precedence for matters it covers.

2. Using Andrea

We grant you a personal, non transferable, non exclusive licence to use Andrea on devices you own or control, for your own cooking. You must be at least 13 years old.

Andrea needs an account. Everything it learns about your cooking is tied to it, so that it follows you to a new phone rather than starting over. You sign in with Apple, which means we never receive a password. You are responsible for the device and the Apple ID you sign in with.

You agree not to:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code.
  • Use the app to generate content that is illegal, harmful, or intended to injure someone.
  • Automate, scrape, or resell access to the recipe generation, or work around the usage limits.
  • Interfere with the service or attempt to access another person’s account.

3. Recipes are generated, and you are the cook

Allergies and dietary requirements

Andrea enforces the allergies and diets you declare with fixed rules rather than by asking the model, and blocks recipes that break them. This is designed to be reliable, but no automated system is a substitute for reading the label on the packet. If you have a severe allergy, always check ingredients yourself before cooking or eating. Nutritional figures shown in the app are estimates, not measurements, and are not medical or dietary advice.

4. Your content

Your notes, ratings, photographs and cooking history remain yours. You grant us only the permission needed to store that content, sync it between your devices, and show it back to you.

You are responsible for content you bring in, including recipes you import from elsewhere, and for having the right to use it.

5. Our content

The app, its name, its design and its software are owned by us and protected by copyright and trade mark law. These terms do not transfer any of that to you.

6. Price, subscription and availability

Andrea is free to download and free to try. Unlimited recipe generation is a subscription, sold in two lengths:

  • 15 kr per week, renewing weekly.
  • 599 kr per year, renewing yearly, starting with 7 days free.

Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. A subscription renews automatically unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your Apple ID is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before that period ends. You can manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple ID account settings on your device. If you cancel during a free trial, you are not charged, and any unused part of a trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription.

We do not take the payment and never receive your card details. Refunds are handled by Apple under their own terms, and we cannot issue one on their behalf.

Without a subscription, recipe generation is subject to a daily fair use limit, because each recipe costs money to produce. We may change, suspend or discontinue parts of the service, and we will give reasonable notice inside the app where a change materially affects you. We will not raise the price of a subscription you already hold without telling you first and giving you the chance to cancel.

7. Ending it

You can stop at any time by deleting your account, as described on the delete your account page, and removing the app. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, and will tell you why unless we are legally prevented from doing so.

8. Warranties and liability

Andrea is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent permitted by law we exclude implied warranties, and we do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error free, or that a generated recipe will suit you.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

If you are a consumer, you keep all the statutory rights your local law gives you, and nothing here overrides them.

9. Apple

Apple is not a party to these terms and has no obligation to provide support for Andrea. Apple is a third party beneficiary of these terms and may enforce them against you.

10. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified in the app before they take effect, and continuing to use Andrea afterwards means accepting them.

These terms are governed by Swedish law. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer rules of the country you live in, and you can bring proceedings in your own courts. Consumer disputes can also go to ARN, as described on the legal and contact page.
